Hire Us – Melton Theatre

Making A Booking

It is advisable to read through the Melton Theatre website before attempting to contact us.

Site visits are recommended (we look even more lovely in person) and can only be pre-arranged by calling us at the Box Office on 01664 851111 or emailing boxoffice@meltontheatre.co.uk

Once the terms of your hire have been agreed with the Theatre Manager, you will be issued with a booking request form that will form the basis of your contract. Please complete the booking request form to secure your booking and send it to:

Theatre Manager

Melton Theatre,
Asfordby Road,
Melton Mowbray,
LE13 0HJ

You will then receive a formal acknowledgement and confirmation of your booking, together with a contract with full terms and conditions. Please sign both copies and return one copy along with a £100.00 deposit to secure your booking to the above address, keeping the other copy for your own records.

What Happens Next?
Whatever the scale of your event is, we recommend contacting our technicians (they don’t bite) to discuss your technical requirements and plans at least 8 weeks prior to your booking.
At this stage we usually request (dependant on the production):

  • A full copy of the script
  • A lighting and sound plot
  • A ground plot of any set

We will also agree all major aspects of your production with you, talk through the logistics of the event and offer support and guidance regarding:

  • Technical requirements
  • Additional recharges/equipment hire
  • Staffing
  • Building Access

We ask that you begin to gather the information for your production as early as possible. There should be a central contact for your event and all information should be kept with them. Should we require any information, they should be able to produce it on request, particularly in the event we or the local licensing authority wish to query the details of your event.

What’s Included & Charges

Anyone organising a ticketed event can make use of our Box Office service.

If your production has musical content we will also deduct Performing Rights Society charges from the Box Office income and make payment on your behalf. This is commission based and will vary dependant on the nature of your production – but don’t worry, we’re always here to help!

Our Box Office at Melton Theatre is open with phone lines operational:

  • Monday – Friday: 8am – 9.45pm
  • Saturday: 8am – 6pm (the Box Office will remain open if there is a performance)
  • Sunday: Closed (unless there is a performance)

Our fully licensed bar will open half an hour before a performance starts and can remain open up to one hour after your performance ends but no later than 11pm.
We are a short walk from Melton Mowbray town centre, and we have ample free parking next to the theatre.
Tickets for our events are made available for purchase through our website and several other well known ticketing vendors. This is a 24 hour service and is totally secure. If required, we can provide you with all links relating to your event for inclusion on your own site/social media outlets. All of our events appear on our website and have their own dedicated webpage to add unique multimedia to.

We operate on a reserved seating basis. You can set your prices and can offer concessionary rates.

Our experienced and friendly box office staff will be fully briefed about your event so they are able to advise your customers and answer queries. A full box office sales report will be emailed to you on a weekly basis or more often, when required. Then you can keep a close track on your ticket sales.

Charges for hire are available on application, please call to speak with our Theatre Manager on 01664 851111.
