Vienna Festival Ballet Returns
Classical ballet takes centre stage soon, when the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company returns to present Swan Lake on March 9th.
Swan Lake is probably the greatest and most popular of all ballets and this production offers imaginative glamorous costumes and beautiful sets which project colour and vitality to enhance the workings of the dancers, choreographers and the composer. The production includes all the essential ingredients to appeal to a wide audience base from youngsters wishing to see the art of ballet live on stage to those wishing to enjoy an evening offering a good story combined with music and dance.
The story centres around Prince Siegfried. While out hunting, the Prince meets with a flock of swans led by a Queen Swan who is under the evil spell of a magician, Baron Rothbart. He falls in love with the Queen of the Swans and tries to free them all. However, the magician has a few tricks up his sleeve. Will everything turn out well for the Prince and the Queen of the Swans?
The Vienna Festival Ballet was founded in 1980 and aims to provide the great classical ballets to theatres nationwide, for audiences of all ages.

Mother Goose gets Panto season off to a flying start
- Monday, 28 November 2011
The Trevonne stage production of Mother Goose really was one golden egg of a show, with plenty of energetic dancing and audience participation.
Packed with heroes and villains, boo-ing and cheering and plenty of panto mischief the show starts ran at the Melton Theatre for a week and got the winter season in swing in style. Gearing up for his fourth pantomime appearance, Pete Banfield, who plays the dame in Mother Goose, said: " Pantomime is great fun to be a part of and a real family event. "I'm really enjoy playing the dame and had been rehearsing along with the incredibly talented cast since October.
"Trying to perfect my Abba dance routine in four inch wedges, while preparing for my seven dress changes, it's a tricky business."
